Sometimes you get the error "File failed to open" or "Could not recognize file format" when you open a video file, don't you?
Well that doesn't always mean that your video player is broken. It could mean that there is lack of codecs in your computer. Codecs are definition of video and audio format that the video player use to play video. For example - If your computer does not have .mkv codec, it wont be able to play .mkv video (matroska videos) which is quickly becoming a popular file format due to its small size and high quality.
Codecs are basically a dictionary for computers. If they dont know a video, they will look it up in the 'dictionary'. If the word is not in the dictionary, it is obvious that you wont find out the meaning easily. Therefore, to solve this problem, correct codec should be installed.
What are correct codecs? What is best for me?
Well if you cannot determine correct codecs, why not take them all? This way, if you get a new video, you wont have to update the codecs frequently. You should download a Mega Codec Pack. I recommend K-Lite beause:

- Second it is the fastest - consumes very low memory and space :D
- Most efficient
- Largest database
